This event was different from any I had planned before because I did so in a freelance capacity from a great distance away, there was no way for me to be hands on. 

Still, in partnership with the exceptional JW Marriott staff, I was able to plan a popular corporate retreat.

After examining nearly a dozen locations with the parameters being: two nights, unlimited golf package, two organized dinners, one lunch and learn and a deal for 25 rooms. Also a preferred location at least some distance away to add to the "retreat" aspect of the trip. 

The only locations willing to give me a price reduction on unlimited golf were over 150 miles away in the Palm Springs/ Palm Desert area of CA. This distance meant I was unable to "stop by after work" the way I was accustomed to when evaluating venues. 

This most difficult part of this was the sheer amount of scheduling and booking required. The rooms, I managed to book within two floors, some with specialized requests. Setting up one set of golf tee times and rentals that weekend. The meeting rooms were also problematic with scheduling conflicts, that had to be reevaluated creatively. Finally organizing multiple meals and menus before the actual event. 

The event was successful and everyone reported having a lovely time.
