My employers came to me saying that they wanted a meeting for their larger, all-star clients who were coming into town for the Product Open House. A way of making it more worth while for those from out of town or out of state to make the trip, also a way to speak with them one on one. 

I suggested a day golfing followed by a small, fairly informal lunch and learn. They liked the idea and we proceeded.

There were several golf clubs in the area, though some only offered golfing rather than country club capabilities. Others had a very poor location, off a highway etc.

I narrowed the possibilities down, then set up meetings after my work day and visited each one. This was absolutely necessary as only one club was even remotely suitable for the quality we were seeking, better yet it was even less expensive than a few other options. 

I did meet with their events department to determine the menu, the room we would use, the bar and alcohol decisions. I further booked tee times and rentals through the Pro Shop on site. 

I also designed gift bags with a golf theme and the appropriate joint corporation logos. I arrived early the day of the event and placed our various marketing around the room and made a few stylistic decisions. 

The event was very successful, no doubt due in some part to California's lovely golfing weather.
